Outline!

For my next movie- I plan on creating a video tutorial on how to use Turning Point clickers. This video will be helpful in part for my students, and also for my collegues. Some of my students will be presenting at a BOCES conference in two weeks and they will use this video as a part of their presentation.
The video will open with an introduction of the technology. What the product is, where it can be found and what the cost is. The video will then show how easy it is to create a basic turning point slide. Two students (that have parental permission to be video taped) will then present how easy it is for students to use the clickers, and will give step by step instructions. The video will be taken with a flip camera and edited in Imovie.

Hey Marissa,

Using the Turning Point clickers as a video tutorial is a great idea! Having a live audience response system in the classroom is such a simple yet powerful way to collect data and student assessment in real-time. Your outline is incredibly thorough and insightful. I think it’s great that you are having two students demonstrate the ease of use. There is no greater impact than seeing students working and learning with new technology.

I would love to see the end video. When you presented it in your mini presentation last semeter I was very interested in seeing the students use them in action. Maybe you could show a spot light of your class using the clickers. You could film it from the back of the classroom to avoid thier faces and any conflict that might arise from that. I LOVE how your using your students to help you.

Marissa, this is a great idea. I intend to do a video on technology that can be incoportated into the classroom as well and I think it's really beneficial for teachers as well as students. The fact that you will be taking footage of your students using this type of technology is really powerful. It's not just a lot of talk about the product but you are also giving a glimpse of what it is actually like to use the clickers. Love it AND I look forward to seeing it!

I look foward to seeing this video. We have a set at our school that we are playing with now with limited success. The fact that the video is student centered is a great idea.
